This Week is Make-or-Break Time for the BYU Cougars
Two weeks off, two weeks on…that’s how it has seemed to go for the Cougars this football season.
Two average games to start the season, two mind-blowing shutouts after that, and two head-scratching snoozefests after that.
But with games remaining at TCU, at Air Force, and at Utah, BYU can ill-afford to continue to play inconsistent football.

Shame on you, Alabama! 3 straight losses capped by UL-Monroe — inexcusable.
Nick Saban! What’s happening? You were so close to winning the SEC West two weeks ago. In fact, you were the sexy upset pick to beat LSU. Everybody thought you guys could get it done. And what do you do?
You lose to Mississippi State, and now, UL-Monroe. Let’s list UL-Monroe’s losses… Tulsa, Clemson, Texas A&M, Troy, North Texas, and Middle Tennessee State. To put it in perspective — North Texas is 1-9. 1…. and 9.
You cannot give up 4 turnovers to anyone and still expect to win. I don’t care if it’s a middle of the road Sunbelt team or a Big XII champ.

It’s just disappointing that an offense who put up 27 points against LSU (7 more came on a punt return TD), and then was humbled against Mississippi State, could falter so badly against the Warhawks of UL-Monroe. The Warhawks just played better today, plain and simple. 9 1/2 minute possession advantage. 4-0 turnover advantage. 7/16 on 3rd downs. Alabama won the yardage battle by about 120 yards, but yards don’t really matter if you don’t take advantage of them. QB John Parker Wilson must step up his game. He’s got to take better care of the ball. He doesn’t need to be a Tim Tebow or Dennis Dixon, he just needs to keep the ball and then put the ball in the endzone.
Good job, UL-Monroe. Boo, Alabama. I expected better from you guys. This is an inexcusable loss — and it’s definitely not the way you want to head into the huge rivalry game against Auburn.
