This Week is Make-or-Break Time for the BYU Cougars
Two weeks off, two weeks on…that’s how it has seemed to go for the Cougars this football season.
Two average games to start the season, two mind-blowing shutouts after that, and two head-scratching snoozefests after that.
But with games remaining at TCU, at Air Force, and at Utah, BYU can ill-afford to continue to play inconsistent football.

He’s back: Ricky Williams returns to the NFL
![]()
I know this is a college sports blog, but please bear with me on this. Earlier today, Commissioner Goodell reinstated Ricky Williams (or as I call him, Sparky) to the NFL.
Now, it is still unclear whether or not Sparky will return to the Miami Dolphins as of now, and the Dolphins staff has not said anything yet to the media about that.
I just want to say that I think it would be a mistake for ANY team out there to sign Sparky to any contract. He has made it a known fact that he doesn’t want to have anything to do with the NFL after he has failed repeated drug tests that show that he loves to spark up the Maui Wowie. One offense is one thing, and can be forgiven. Repeated offenses is another.
If I were Miami, I wouldn’t even consider signing Williams back on. That’s saying a lot considering that the Fins are 0-9 and could use all the help they could get this year. However, that kind of help is something no one needs.
And really, who’s to say we will stay clean? He was already reinstated once after serving a suspension and then blew that opportunity. He actually had an extended suspension from the NFL for violating his probation while he was on suspension. This guy doesn’t get it at all. It’s really sad too because when Sparky was at his best, there were few out there who could be better.
