This Week is Make-or-Break Time for the BYU Cougars
Two weeks off, two weeks on…that’s how it has seemed to go for the Cougars this football season.
Two average games to start the season, two mind-blowing shutouts after that, and two head-scratching snoozefests after that.
But with games remaining at TCU, at Air Force, and at Utah, BYU can ill-afford to continue to play inconsistent football.

10 Things I Hate as a College Football Fan
In honor of Ohio State’s defenseless and offenseless loss to Illinois, I give you my ten reasons I hate being an avid college sports fan.
1) There is a very good chance that my team will lose at least one game over the course of the season (any sport). I hate losing. Which brings me to…
2) I hate being irritable for the rest of the day because of a sporting event… My wife doesn’t like it, either.
3) Notre Dame football is on NBC. When’s the last time they won a big game?
4) There are way too many games to keep an eye on at once. I love it, but I hate it. It presents tough decisions that must be made, i.e. Kansas/Oklahoma State or Florida/South Carolina? When I get rich, I may look into fixing that problem. But, for now, I’m Tivo-less.
5) Regional coverage. I really feel sorry for the people that have to watch BC/Maryland on TV tonight instead of USC/Cal or Kansas/Oklahoma State. I know I’d be mad if I had to.
6) I recently went to a high school football game and, for a split second, expected a replay review of a controversial fumble call.
7) We all have to live with the BCS. This year needs a play-off unless somehow there ends up being only 2 teams with 1 loss. Much love to all the journalists out there, but I don’t really want you guys determining who the champion is. Hawaii’s schedule stinks, but if they win out, I’d give them a shot at the big boys.
8 ) We have to stand idly by and watch as Lou Holtz
and Lee Corso get more senile by the minute.
9) We’ll never know how teams like Boise State, Hawaii, BYU, Utah, Troy, etc. really are because of the very few chances they get to play a bigger school. They’re in a bind because if they don’t go undefeated they won’t even smell the top 10.
